ORAL PRESENTATIONS

Oral presentations can be scary sometimes. But don't panic! Here you are some tips to help you:

DO:

  • Prepare in advance. Use a PowerPoint and short notes to help you.
  • Use simple sentences to express your ideas clearly.
  • Pause from time to time and don’t speak too quickly.
  • Speak clearly and at the right volume. Have a right posture and keep eye-contact with your listeners.
  • Have your notes ready to have a look if necessary.
  • Practise your presentation. Practice makes perfect.
  • Organise your presentation: introduction, development and conclusion.
  • Make sure your digital resources work well.

DON'T:

  • Learn every word by heart.
  • Read your notes.
  • Use very informal language (unless required).
