Global Classrooms 2024

They did it again!! Our students, Simón Marín and Elisa Nut Mora, were among the top 20 performers selected out of the 1,600 participants at the Global Classrooms conference in the 2023-2024 edition. During the last conference, these students presented their proposals on the impact of Artificial Intelligence and how it is shaping our world. These proposals resulted in a remarkable resolution that was achieved through cooperation with other delegations.

These 20 students have participated in the final interviews and from them, 10 students have been selected to travel to New York. Unfortunately, our students have not been chosen but you guys have done an amazing job and have come a long way! Congratulations once again, we are so proud of you! And congratulations to all the students who have participated and learn something positive from this experience :)

Global 23-24

Global Classrooms 2023

As in previous years, ten students from 3º ESO participated in the annual Global Classrooms Model United Nations Conference at Las Acacias on 23 January 2023. They had to represent different countries from all around the world as they debated various global topics. The students did a great job!!

IES José Saramago was one of 11 schools (out of the 140 schools that participated) chosen to advance with two delegations to the next round of the conference, which took place at Las Acacias on 15 February 2023.

These four students, Jimena Brel, Enma Valladares, Alicia Gómez and Marion Sendín, did an excellent job so they were awarded Best Delegations after an enthralling debate about the Circular Economy and the possible solutions to some of the most challenging environmental problems our world faces today.

Congratulations on your hard work’s payoff!!! We are very proud of you all :D

Global Classrooms 2016

Un año más nuestros alumnos llegan a la final y reciben premio en la conferencia anual "Global Classrooms Model United Nations"

This year, 10 students from 3º ESO participated in the annual Global Classrooms Model United Nations conference at Las Acacias on 20 January. They had to represent different countries from around the world as they debated different global topics. The students did a fantastic job, and IES José Saramago was one of 18 schools (out of the 73 schools that participated) chosen to advance to the next round of the conference.

The next round was held on 25 February, when the students also attended a ceremony at the Asamblea of Madrid. At the conference, they discussed topics such as the empowerment of women and ways to feed a growing global population while also dealing with the effects of climate change. They delivered inspiring speeches, debated with their peers, and wrote and presented their ideas on how to fix these problems. They again did an amazing job, and one pair, Martín Pozo and Lucía Ventura, even won an Honorable Mention award in their committee. We are so proud of all the students who participated!
